AlMg5 wire is one of the most widely used welding aluminum alloys.

Aluminum binder containing 5% magnesium for MIG welding of AL-Mg alloys resistant to sea water. Provides higher fracture toughness than binders with a lower magnesium content.

The weld area must be cleaned to a metallic sheen.
