TIG welding rods AlSi5 are designed for high-quality welding of aluminum and aluminum-silicon alloys, especially those with a silicon content of up to 7%. These rods contain approximately 5% silicon, which enhances the weldability by improving fluidity and significantly reducing the risk of hot cracking during the welding process.
AlSi5 filler rods are commonly used for welding cast aluminum parts, extruded profiles, and components where a smooth, consistent weld is required. Thanks to their excellent corrosion resistance and good mechanical properties, they are ideal for applications in the automotive industry (e.g. engine components, housings), shipbuilding, aircraft maintenance, and general aluminum fabrication.
These rods are intended for use with the TIG (GTAW) welding method and are typically used with pure argon as a shielding gas. AlSi5 rods provide a clean weld appearance and are suitable for both thin and thicker sections of aluminum.
