Weld forming plates are used to form the edge location of the weld. The segmented structure allows adaptation to the surface shapes. The segments are attached to a self-adhesive aluminum tape. The plates can be used when welding sheet metal by customizing the size of the ceramic segment depending on the surface (flat or curved). The use of ceramic plates allows reducing welding time, welding both flat and curved surfaces, achieving the required weld quality and a uniform, clean, shiny, unoxidized edge position and non-oxidized weld.
