IGBT TECHNOLOGY

Modern technology based on insulated gate bipolar transistors. It combines the easiness of control of field effect transistors with the high breakdown voltage and switching speed of bipolar transistors. The use of IGBT technology significantly extends the reliable operation of welding equipment.

PROTECTION DEGREE

IP determines the extent to which the device is resistant to the ingress of solid and water contaminants. IP23 means that the device is designed for indoor use and is not suitable for use in the rain.

MMA

A method that uses a covered electrode, consisting of a metal core covered with a coating. The welder feeds the electrode as it melts into the workpiece so as to maintain a constant arc length. The device allows welding with all types of electrodes, e.g. basic, cellulosic, rutile or acidic.

ARC FORCE

Arc stabilizing function by maintaining the voltage value of the welding arc regardless of its length and facilitating control over the amount of spatter.

HOT START

When the arc is ignited, the welding current is temporarily increased in order to heat the material and electrode at the point of contact and to properly shape penetration and weld face in the initial phase of welding

TIG AC/DC

Allows TIG welding with alternating current. This is required for welding aluminum and its alloys. MMA - a function that allows MMA welding, i.e. welding with a coated electrode. This increases the possibilities and versatility of the device.

TIG PULS

The function affects the shape of the weld and the focus of the arc. Pulse welding also reduces the amount of heat supplied to the material and is used when welding thin materials.

TIG IMPULSE

Pulse welding is a type of TIG spot welding that allows for the welding of thin elements, thanks to its very lowheat emission in the connection zone. It consists of cyclic short-term arc ignition and extinction.

HF - NON-CONTACT ARC IGNITION

The device is equipped with an ionizer that allows for non-contact arc ignition.

GAS PRE-FLOW TIME

Time from pressing the button in the handle grip and opening the gas valve to the moment the arc is ignited. Typically should be longer than 0.5 s to deliver shielding gas to the torch nozzle exit to shield the weld start and tungsten electrode.

GAS AFTERFLOW TIME

The time from arc extinction to closing the gas valve to shield the solidifying weld pool from air and to cool the tungsten electrode. Too short a postflow time can result in weld oxidation. When welding in TIG AC mode (alternating current), this time should be longer.

CURRENT RISE TIME

Welding current rise time from initial current to set welding current value.

CURRENT FALL TIME

Welding current fall time from set value to zero or crater current value.

PULSE WIDTH

Pulse duration, allows for adjustment of the penetration depth. Increasing the width increases the depth of penetration, while decreasing it limits the amount of heat introduced into the material, reducing the risk of burning through thinner sheets or smaller elements.

PULSE FREQUENCY

The frequency at which the current pulse value changes between the welding current and the base current.

2T / 4T OPERATION MODE

2T - pressing the button on the handle turns on the ionizer and ignites the arc. Welding is carried out with the button pressed.

4T - pressing the button in the handle grip will turn on the ionizer and ignite the arc, then you should release the button and weld with the button released. Pressing the button again will end welding.

SELECTING THE WAVEFORM

The device allows you to choose from the following AC waveforms:

  • The rectangular shape of the AC waveform allows for welding aluminum with the addition of magnesium,
  • The triangular shape of the current waveform is optimal for welding thin elements, including anodized aluminum,
  • Sinusoidal waveform is recommended for welding pure aluminum.

SPOT

TIG SPOT welding is used for overlapping (tacking) of thin sheets (up to 1.5 mm, with drilling up to 5 mm – hole-point joint) made of steel, alloy steels, as well as for joining sheets before butt welding.

MEMORY CHANNELS

SPARTUS® ProTIG 2000 AC/DC is equipped with 10 memory channels, which are a key tool for every professional, allowing for quick and efficient management of the welding process. Thanks to this function, the welder has the ability to save and quickly recall the most frequently used machine settings, which significantly improves work and saves time when changing welding parameters between different projects or materials.

CONTROL

SPARTUS® ProTIG 2000 AC/DC has a wide range of control options, depending on the welder's preferences. The device is compatible with TIG torches controlled by a 4B (UP&DOWN) microswitch or potentiometer. ProTIG 2000 AC/DC also offers the possibility of wired foot control and wirelesswired using a specially designed remote control.

COOLING

SPARTUS® ProTIG 2000 AC/DC offers a flexible cooling option, allowing you to work with both gas cooling and an integrated cooler. Simply switch the mode on the control panel to adjust the cooling system to your current needs and working conditions.
