Description

⚡ ARMACK AMASAN Sn97Cu3 soft solder 2.5 mm 100 g

ARMACK AMASAN No. 3 Sn97Cu3 is a professional, lead-free soft solder wire intended primarily for soldering copper and its alloys. The solder contains 97% tin and 3% copper, making it suitable for installation, servicing and workshop joints.

The solder is particularly recommended for copper pipes and fittings in hot and cold drinking-water installations. The 2.5 mm wire diameter provides convenient solder feed during joint making, while the melting temperature range of 230–250°C enables efficient soft soldering with a suitable flux.

✅ Key benefits of ARMACK Sn97Cu3 solder

  • Lead-free Sn97Cu3 composition – 97% tin and 3% copper.
  • Designed for soldering copper and its alloys.
  • For drinking-water installations – suitable for copper pipes and fittings.
  • Melting range 230–250°C – suitable for soft soldering.
  • 2.5 mm wire diameter – convenient, controlled solder feed.
  • 100 g mass – practical pack for installation and servicing work.
  • Can be used with various soft-soldering fluxes.
  • Can also be used for soldering aluminium with the suitable ALU33 flux.
  • The product has a PZH certificate.

✅ For copper pipes and fittings

Sn97Cu3 solder is widely used for making capillary joints in copper pipes and fittings. It is particularly useful in installation work where tight, durable joints made by soft soldering are required.

The product may be used in hot and cold drinking-water installations in accordance with DVGW requirements – worksheets GW 2 and GW 7.

✅ Applications

ARMACK AMASAN No. 3 Sn97Cu3 can be used, among other things, for:

  • soldering copper pipes,
  • soldering copper fittings and connectors,
  • cold drinking-water installations,
  • hot drinking-water installations,
  • installation and sanitary work,
  • servicing and repair work,
  • soldering copper and copper alloys,
  • soldering aluminium with a suitable flux.

✅ Lead-free Sn97Cu3 solder

The solder is made from the Sn97Cu3 alloy, consisting of 97% tin and 3% copper. It is a lead-free soft solder particularly popular for copper installation work.

The melting temperature range of 230–250°C allows the joint to be made efficiently when the components are heated correctly and a suitable flux is used.

✅ Recommended fluxes

The manufacturer indicates that Sn97Cu3 solder may be used, among others, with the following fluxes:

  • ARMACK CWK,
  • ARMACK C66,
  • ARMACK FT,
  • ARMACK Pasta LF No. 3.

For soldering aluminium, use the appropriate ARMACK ALU33 flux.

✅ Use with LF No. 3 paste

In copper installations, Sn97Cu3 solder is particularly often used together with ARMACK LF No. 3 soldering paste. The paste helps prepare the surface for soldering and contains fine-grain soldering powder, while the Sn97Cu3 wire is used to supplement the required amount of solder in the joint.

This combination enables precise production of a capillary joint and control of the amount of solder supplied.

✅ How to make the joint correctly

First, thoroughly clean the end of the pipe mechanically using a suitable non-metallic cleaner. Then apply a thin layer of the appropriate paste or flux and insert the pipe fully into the fitting socket.

Heat the joint evenly. Apply the solder to the edge of the heated joint – the solder should melt from the heat of the heated material, not directly from the burner flame.

A correctly made joint should form a visible, even ring of solder around the edge of the fitting.

✅ Cleaning after soldering

After finishing the work, thoroughly remove flux residues with a damp cloth. For water installations, also flush the installation in accordance with the applicable requirements.

Thorough cleaning of the joint helps reduce the risk of discolouration and corrosion of copper surfaces.

✅ Important usage information

Sn97Cu3 solder must be used with a suitably selected flux or soldering paste. Select the preparation according to the material and nature of the joint being made.

During soldering, heat the component evenly; the solder should melt from the heat of the parts being joined. After finishing the work, thoroughly remove flux residues.
