The DIGITIG 204 QUATTRO welder is a device of the latest generation, made in IGBT technology and equipped with digital control.

It is used for manual TIG DC, MMA (covered electrode) welding of steel and non-ferrous metals with direct current with the possibility of using current pulsations. It also enables plasma cutting of steel, aluminum and copper sheets and elements.

Digital control allows for full adjustment and control of the welding parameters of the arc and pulse characteristics. Thanks to the use of the Fan Stop function, which turns off the fan at low load on the welding machine, the noise level has been significantly reduced.

In addition, it has HF ignition, the ability to control in two-stroke and four-stroke modes and a variant of spot welding, the so-called. cold welding.

The welder is made in IGBT inverter technology, which allowed to significantly reduce its weight and dimensions. Stable output parameters guarantee obtaining a high-quality weld.

Examples of applications: light industry, repair work in the field, workshop work, automotive, muffler welding.

IGBT TECHNOLOGY

Modern technology based on bipolar transistors with an insulated gate. It combines the ease of control of field effect transistors with the high breakdown voltage and switching speed of bipolar transistors. The use of IGBT technology significantly extends the reliable operation of welding equipment.

LEVEL OF SECURITY

IP defines the degree to which the device is resistant to the penetration of solid and water contaminants. IP23 means that the device is suitable for indoor use and is not suitable for use in the rain.

OVERHEAT PROTECTION

The IGBT module is protected against overheating by a protective installation that disables the welding circuit of the device. After a few minutes, the welder cools down to a temperature that allows it to restart automatically.

WORK CYCLE

The duty cycle is based on a 10-minute period. A duty cycle of 60% means that after 6 minutes of operation, a 4-minute break is required. 100% duty cycle means that the device can work continuously without interruption.

MMA

A method that uses a coated electrode, consisting of a metal core covered with a sheath. The device enables welding with all types of electrodes, e.g. basic, cellulose, rutile or acidic.

VRD

The VRD function lowers the no-load voltage. The correct voltage value is only restored just before the arc is struck. This minimizes the risk of electric shock, but in some cases it may make it difficult to strike the arc.

TIG DC HF

In order to completely eliminate the possibility of tungsten contamination of the weld, it is recommended that the electrode does not touch the workpiece; for this purpose, contactless arc ignition is used using high-frequency discharges generated by the ionizer built into the device.

HF - NON-CONTACT ARC STARTING

The device is equipped with an ionizer enabling contactless arc ignition.

2T / 4T WORKING MODE

2T - pressing the button in the handle of the handle turns on the ionizer and ignites the arc. Welding is carried out with the button pressed.

4T - pressing the button in the handle of the handle will turn on the ionizer and ignite the arc, then release the button and weld with the released button. Pressing the button again will end welding.

START CURRENT

Current appearing in the circuit after pressing the button in the handle of the handle. The higher the starting current, the easier it is to strike the arc.

However, when welding thin sheets, too high a value of the starting current can lead to burning of the sheet. In some welding modes, the current does not increase to heat the workpiece.

RISE TIME

Welding current rise time from the initial current to the set welding current value.

DOWNDOWN TIME

The time for the welding current to fall from the set value to zero or the value of the crater current.

GAS PRE-FLOW TIME

Time from pressing the button in the handle of the torch and opening the gas valve until the arc is ignited. Normally it should be longer than 0.5s to supply shielding gas to the torch nozzle outlet to shield the welding start and tungsten electrode.

GAS POST FLOW TIME

Time from extinguishing the arc to closing the gas valve to shield the solidifying weld pool from air and to cool the tungsten electrode. Too short post-flow time may result in oxidation of the weld. When welding in TIG AC (alternating current) mode, this time should be longer.

TIG DC

Enables TIG welding with direct current DC. It is required for welding non-ferrous metals.

PULSE TIG

The function affects the shape of the weld and the focus of the arc. Pulse welding also allows you to reduce the amount of heat supplied to the material and is used when welding thin materials.

PULSE FREQUENCY

The frequency at which the current pulse value changes between the welding current and the base current.

PULSE WIDTH

The duration of the pulse allows you to adjust the penetration depth. Increasing the width increases the depth of penetration, reducing the amount of heat introduced into the material, reducing the risk of burning through thinner sheets or smaller components.

CRATE CURRENT

Current used in some welding modes where the arc is not extinguished immediately after the downslope phase. Allows you to fill the crater at the end of the joint.

COLD TIG

Spot type of TIG welding - the so-called cold welding that allows joining thin elements, thanks to very low heat emission in the joining zone. It consists in cyclic short-term ignition and extinction of the arc.

SPOT Pressing the switch in the handle of the handle will turn on the ionizer, ignite the arc for the time set with the COLD TIME parameter and extinguish the arc. Re-ignition of the arc requires releasing and pressing the button in the handle.

COLD TIME 0.01 - 2.5 sec.

Welding time during spot welding (cold welding).

PAUSE TIME 0.1 - 10 sec

Pause time during spot welding (cold welding). Only for CPOT control mode.

EASY TO USE, CLEAR CONTROL PANEL:

The easy-to-use control panel enables precise and smooth adjustment of parameters. The digital display shows the actual welding current.

PLASMA

Function for cutting electrically conductive elements made of carbon and alloy steels, aluminum and its alloys, brass, copper and cast iron

MAXIMUM CUTTING THICKNESS 12MM

The value of the maximum thickness of the cut was determined under optimal conditions for cutting ordinary quality carbon steel. In order to select the right device, it is recommended to perform technological tests in real working conditions and on an exemplary sample of the material.

STRONG AND SOLID CONSTRUCTION

The housing of the device is made of light and durable composites, resistant to all kinds of mechanical damage.

EASY TRANSPORT

Equipping the welding machine with a transport handle ensuring comfort when changing workplaces.

COOLING

The device has a fan cooling system, which significantly increases its efficiency.
