The semi-automatic  MIG 180FL welder by Sherman  is used for manual welding of steel and non-ferrous metals.

It enables welding with the following methods:

• MIG / MAG  - gas shielded welding wire,
• MMA  (coated electrode) - with a direct current (DC) electrode
• FLUX  welding wire without shielding gas,

Due to the change of polarity, the device allows welding with the use of both standard wires in protective gas shield and self-shielding flux-cored wires.

The welder is made in IGBT inverter technology  ,  which allowed for a significant reduction in its weight and dimensions.

The device is used in closed or roofed rooms, not exposed to direct weather conditions. It is intended mainly for amateur work and light casual workshop work.

The welder is equipped with an integrated MIG welding torch, an electrode cable and a ground cable with a clamp.

IGBT TECHNOLOGY

Modern technology based on  bipolar transistors  with an insulated gate. It combines the ease of control of field effect transistors with a high breakdown voltage and the switching speed of bipolar transistors. The use of IGBT technology significantly  extends the reliable operation  of welding equipment.

PROTECTION AGAINST OVERHEATING

The power source is equipped with a thermal automatic overload switch. When the temperature of the welding machine is too high, the protection disconnects the welding current and the diode indicating overheating lights up. After the temperature has dropped, the switch will reset automatically.

WORK CYCLE

The duty cycle is based on a 10-minute period. 60% duty cycle means that after 6 minutes of operation, a 4-minute break is required. Duty cycle of 100% means that the device can work continuously without interruption.

COOLING

The device has a fan cooling system, which significantly increases its efficiency.

POLAR CHANGE - WELDING WITHOUT GAS

Due to the variable polarity, it is possible to weld with flux-cored wire without shielding gas. The wire is filled with a flux that produces protective gases during welding.
