⚡ Penetrant for dye penetrant testing WELD 200
WELD 200 is a red penetrant intended for carrying out surface non-destructive testing using the penetrant testing method (PT) on welds. The product uses capillary action, whereby liquid penetrates micro-cracks in the material, enabling the detection of surface discontinuities.
The penetrant testing method is widely used in industry due to its effectiveness, simplicity and low cost. WELD 200 provides clear indications of defects thanks to its intense red colour.
The product is part of a penetrant testing set together with WELD 100 (cleaner) and WELD 300 (developer).

✅ Application
Intended for detecting surface discontinuities in welds, such as cracks, porosity or leaks in metal components.
✅ Instructions for use
- clean and degrease the surface with WELD 100
- dry the tested component
- apply WELD 200 penetrant and leave for approximately 2 minutes
- remove excess penetrant
- apply WELD 300 developer
- observe the surface for the appearance of discolouration
- the appearance of clear indications means that a weld discontinuity is present
