Description
⚡ ARMACK CuZn40Si LM60K 2.0 mm brazing brass filler rod
ARMACK AMASAN CuZn40Si LM60K is a professional, bare brass brazing filler rod designed for making strong joints in steel, malleable cast iron and copper alloys. The alloy corresponds to the designation Cu 470a (L-CuZn40Si) according to ISO 17672 and is suitable for both installation work and the fabrication and repair of metal structures.
The filler rod contains silicon, which limits zinc evaporation during brazing, an important advantage when working at high temperatures. The working temperature is approximately 900°C, while the resulting joint remains resistant to operating temperatures of up to 300°C.
✅ Key advantages of the ARMACK LM60K filler rod
- Versatile use – designed for brazing steel, malleable cast iron and copper alloys.
- Working temperature of 900°C – suitable for making durable joints using brazing.
- Melting range of 890–900°C – the narrow temperature range makes the brazing process easier to control.
- Silicon additive – limits zinc evaporation while the filler rod is heated.
- Joint resistance up to 300°C – allows use in components operating at elevated temperatures.
- Rod diameter of 2.0 mm – convenient feeding of the material when making precise joints.
- Rod length of 500 mm – a practical format for workshop and assembly applications.
- The product has a PZH certificate.
✅ For steel, cast iron and copper alloys
ARMACK CuZn40Si brass brazing filler rod offers a wide range of applications. It can be used, among other things, for brazing steel, malleable cast iron and copper alloys.
Particular application areas include various types of structural tubing, bicycle and motorcycle frames, and metal structural components, where a durable, temperature-resistant joint is required.
✅ Silicon limiting zinc evaporation
The CuZn40Si alloy contains silicon, whose purpose is to limit zinc evaporation during the brazing process. This is important when working at a temperature of approximately 900°C and contributes to more stable behaviour of the brazing material during heating.
✅ Applications
ARMACK AMASAN LM60K can be used, among other things, for:
- brazing steel components,
- brazing malleable cast iron,
- joining copper alloys,
- brazing structural tubing,
- manufacturing and repairing bicycle frames,
- manufacturing and repairing motorcycle frames,
- workshop and structural work,
- selected pipe installations.
✅ Use in pipe installations
In pipe installations, the filler rod is approved by DVGW in accordance with GW2 Worksheet for use exclusively in cold-water installations made of galvanised steel.
This product must not be treated as a universal filler rod for all water installations. When used in installations, the requirements concerning the pipe material and the purpose of the installation must be observed.
✅ Flux is required for the bare filler rod
ARMACK LM60K is a bare filler rod without flux coating. An appropriate brazing flux must be used during brazing.
The manufacturer recommends, among other products:
- ARMACK HKM powder for brazing and welding,
- ARMACK HKMP brazing paste,
- borax powder for brazing and welding.

✅ Important information concerning use
The product is a bare filler rod and requires the use of an appropriate brazing flux.
For pipe installations, according to the manufacturer’s information, use is approved by DVGW in accordance with GW2 only for cold water in galvanised steel pipes.
Before brazing, the surfaces of the components to be joined should be suitably cleaned and prepared, and the type of flux selected according to the materials and operating conditions.
