TIG welding rods ER70S-6 are copper-coated solid wires designed for welding unalloyed and low-alloyed carbon steels. These rods offer excellent arc stability, low spatter, and superior weld appearance, making them one of the most commonly used filler metals for general-purpose TIG welding of mild steels.

ER70S-6 contains a higher level of silicon and manganese compared to standard ER70S-2 rods, which enhances deoxidation and allows for better performance on slightly contaminated or rusty surfaces. It produces strong, ductile welds with high impact toughness, even at low temperatures.

Typical applications include automotive repair, construction, machinery manufacturing, pipelines, steel structures, and general fabrication work. ER70S-6 is particularly well-suited for root passes and single- or multi-pass welding of clean or moderately scaled steel.

These rods are used with the TIG (GTAW) welding process and pure argon shielding gas. They ensure consistent mechanical properties and excellent bead appearance across various steel grades.
