The DIGITIG 200 AC / DC MULTIPULSE welding machine is a device of the latest generation, made in IGBT technology and equipped with digital control . It is used for manual TIG welding of steel and non-ferrous metals with direct and alternating current. It also has the option of MMA welding (with a coated electrode).
The device enables full digital regulation and control of the welding parameters of the arc and pulse characteristics as well as the choice of the AC waveform .
It has a voltage ignition HF , the ability to control mode dwutaktu and czterotaktu and spot welding . It is also possible to save 20 sets of pulse and welding current parameter settings.
During MMA welding, it is possible to adjust the ARC FORCE and HOT START functions .

MODE OF OPERATION 2T / 4T / SP
2T - Double-action mode - pressing the button in the handle of the handle turns the ionizer on and ignites the arc. Welding is carried out with the button pressed.
4T - Quadruple mode - pressing the button in the handle of the handle will turn on the ionizer and arc ignition, then release the button and start welding with the released button. Pressing the button again will stop welding
SP - Cold welding - it is a type of TIG spot welding that enables the welding of thin elements due to very low heat emission in the joining zone. It consists in cyclic short-term ignition and extinction of the arc. Welding takes place in a continuous mode, pressing the button in the handle grip will start cyclic ignition and extinction of the arc, releasing the button will end welding.
CHOICE OF THE AC WAVE SHAPE
- Sine wave - Classic wave, similar to transformer welders, preferred by older welders.
- Square Wave - Universal, most commonly used waveform for welding any material. Generates more heat in the weld zone, greater penetration than other shapes.
- Trapezoidal Wave - A softer arc with a liquid pool and good material wetting. Better arc control than sine wave.
- Triangular wave - Especially preferred when welding thin materials.
MEMORY OF SETTINGS
The device has the memory of the last setting, i.e. after turning it off and on again, the last set parameters are restored. It is also possible to save a total of 20 sets of settings - 10 each for the TIG and MMA methods.
GAS PREFLOW TIME 0.1 - 15s.
Time from pressing the button in the handle of the handle and opening the gas valve until the arc is struck. Typically, it should be longer than 0.5 seconds to supply shielding gas to the exit of the torch nozzle to shield the welding start and the tungsten electrode.
INITIAL CURRENT (STARK AMP) 5 - 200A.
Current appearing in the circuit after pressing the button in the handle of the handle. The higher the starting current, the easier it is to strike the arc. However, when welding thin sheets, too high a starting current can lead to burnout. In some welding modes, the current does not rise to heat the workpiece.
PULSE DUTY WIDTH 10 - 90%.
Duration of the pulse allows you to adjust the depth of penetration. Increasing the width increases the penetration depth, reducing the amount of heat introduced into the material, reducing the risk of burning through thinner sheets or smaller components.
Lower pulse width values should be used for higher currents. A larger pulse width should be used for small currents, for example a width greater than 50% should be used for currents below 100A.
BASE AMP 5 - 200A.
The current responsible for maintaining the welding process, the lower value of the current pulse. It facilitates the control of the amount of heat introduced into the material.
Base current adjustment is possible only during pulse welding
DOWN SLOPE 0 - 15s.
Time for the downslope of the welding current from the set value to zero or the value of the crater current.
CRATER CURRENT (FINISH AMP) 5 - 200A.
Current used in some welding modes when the arc is not quenched immediately after the welding current downslope. It allows you to fill the crater and the end of the weld.
CURRENT RISE TIME (UP SLOPE) 0 - 15s.
Time in which the welding current rises from the starting current to the set welding current value.
PULSE FREQUENCY 0.5 - 999Hz
The frequency with which the current pulse value changes between the welding current and the base current.
FREQUENCY AC (AC FREQUENCY) 1 - 250Hz
Useful when welding aluminum. The higher the frequency, the better the quality of the weld and the better the focus of the arc
AC BALANCE 15 - 50%
The ratio of the duration of the positive phase to the negative phase. Decreasing the balance introduces more heat into the material, resulting in a narrower weld and deeper penetration, while reducing the heat load on the tungsten electrode. Increasing the balance introduces less heat into the material, resulting in better cleaning, a wide weld and shallower fusion, however, significantly stresses the tungsten electrode.
GAS FLOW TIME 0.1 - 15s.
The time from extinguishing the arc to closing the gas valve to shield the solidifying weld pool from air and to cool the tungsten electrode. Too short a post-flow time may result in oxidation of the weld. When welding in TIG AC mode (alternating current), this time should be longer.
HF - NON-CONTACT ARC IGNITION
The DIGITIG 200 AC / DC MULTIPULSE device is equipped with an ionizer enabling contactless arc ignition.
MMA WELDING
The Sherman digitec® DIGITIG 200 AC / DC Multipulse device enables welding with a coated electrode.
ARC FORCE FUNCTION (MMA)
It allows you to adjust the dynamics of the welding arc. Shortening the arc length is accompanied by an increase in the welding current, which stabilizes the arc.
Decreasing the value results in a soft arc and a smaller fusion depth, while increasing the value causes deeper penetration and the possibility of short arc welding.
With a high value of the ARC FORCE function, it is possible to weld with the minimum arc length and high electrode melting speed.
HOT START (MMA) FUNCTION
It is popularly known as a hot start. It works when the arc is struck, causing the welding current to temporarily increase above the value set by the welder.
HOT START is designed to prevent the electrode from sticking to the material and is a great help when starting the arc. When welding small parts, it is recommended to disable this function, as it may cause burnout of the workpiece.
IGBT TECHNOLOGY
The basis for the construction of the electric energy conversion system of the welding machine are electronic systems made in IGBT technology that enable operation in the frequency range above 200 kHz.
The welder is equipped with a supply voltage compensation system, which enables their operation with voltage fluctuations in the supply network up to 10%
WORK CYCLE
The duty cycle is based on a 10-minute period. 60% duty cycle means that after 6 minutes of operation of the device, a 4-minute break is required. 100% duty cycle means that the device can work continuously without interruption.
LEVEL OF SECURITY
The IP determines the degree to which the device is resistant to solid and water contamination entering the interior. IP23 means that the device is adapted to work in closed rooms and is not suitable for use in the rain.
REMOTE LED
LED indicating the device is in remote control mode. The LED will light up automatically when the remote control plug is connected to the socket.
ALARM LED - PROTECTION AGAINST OVERHEATING
The device is equipped with an automatic thermal switch that cuts off the welding current when the device gets too hot.
The error code "E00" also appears in the display. In this case, do not turn off the welder or disconnect it from the power supply. When the correct temperature is reached, the circuit breaker will reset automatically.
PROTECTIVE GAS BUTTON
The button is used to check the correct gas flow. Pressing and holding the button opens the solenoid valve and gas flows. Releasing the button closes the gas flow.
